Message: I would not carry cash. I would get a cashier's check or money order that you could sign over to the dealer. Then, if you decide not to go through with it, you can just cancel the cashier's check or money order and be done with it. Your bank can help you do it so that you can keep the funds, and avoid carrying that large a sum of cash.
