Opinions please: 2001 740il needs new transmission. 122000 miles and otherwise mechanically sound. Dealer is afriend of mine and will put new transmission in for $4400. Car of course probably not worth much more than that, but I do really like the car. I hate the newer BMW's (all sizes and series). What would you do. Thanks for opinions.
