Mike A isn't from CA & NOx is new to me (m) - The BMW 5 Series (E39) Message Forum

My last smog check was in 2002, so that's why the enhanced Smog II is new to me, not really to CA. Also, I don't think it's every county in CA that requires Smog II.

I do have fairly special software in my car, which could attribute to the higher than normal NOx. I had one bad cat that the dealer replaced ~8K mi ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if the other were dying on me too. Time for some Magnaflows. :)

Thx for the diagnosis. My tuner folks said I might have a bad MAF as well, but that's unproven.
