| Message: | I popped out the drivers door module and took it apart. Now I know why they are so expensive, there's a lot of stuff in there! There are contacts for the mirror fold switch on the PC board, but no button on the housing. I tried connecting the 2 switch connections together to simulate the fold up switch but nothing happened. All of the other functions worked with the M5 mirrors connected. They must be coded differently. So the only way to get the motors to function is to pull out the 2 wires (1-blue & 2-white) and wire them in to an aux switch somewhere in the car or buy new modules. Someone posted info the other day about Bill Dodge BMW, Westbrook, ME being the best place to get parts. I called up and spoke to Ronnie (207-857-4282) in the parts dept. He hooked me up! I now have an account there. 25% off list. I told him some of you guys may be calling. Drivers switch module 61-31-6-909-903 Passenger module 61-35-6-904-243 Both for $264, not cheap, but I don't have the time to cut wires, fish them thru the doors into the car, and mount a switch. If it was winter when my car is a garage queen then I'd do it. I just want to get the mirrors in and working. If you guys want to add an external switch, let me know and I'll be glad to help you, It's not difficult, just takes time. Here are the pics. | ||||
