FYI: Winter storage tips and ideas (235 views) (1622 thread views)
Message: maybe others can add some tips or ideas to this list.

and more tips:

1. Detail Car, wax, dressing of interior, empty trunk, etc
2. change all fluids (radiator, brake, oil, etc)
3. fill gas tank (to the TOP) and add fuel stabilizer (this keeps o2 from rusting the gas tank and the stabilizer keeps it from turning to varnish)
4. place car on jack stands
5. remove tires and place on their side to keep from flat spotting
6. coat all rubber parts with a protectant (make sure it is correct for that type of part, etc)
7. cover with a good car cover
8. Disconnect and remove battery to inside storage
9. Buy about ten big bars of Ivory soap. Leave them in their wrappers in a paper bag anywhere in the interior. Will really eliminate build up of that musty odor from long- term storage. U can use the soap if U want to when the car comes out of storage.
10. great tips on tire cradles and flat spotting (www.tirecradle.com )

Return to car:

1. remove cover
2. change oil
3. drain gas tank (if possible… if the stabilizer did its job… should not be a problem)
4. place tires on car
5. remove jack stands
6. start car and let warm up for a few minutes
7. if the gas if OK… get to high way speeds (after a longer warm up period driving around town, making sure everything is OK) and burn through that tank of gas as soon as possible
8. Trickle charge and add water if applicable to battery and reinstall

long term storage
