| Message: | | I have a 2001 540 (bought brand new- made to order- paid full MSRP). Even though I live in California, I was able to get a great warranty through Heritage (I paid 3K I believe)- usually you can only get them during the purchasing process (credit unions, etc...). Heritage has been an unbelievably good company- the car is a complete money pit- water pump, 2 radiators, countless oxygen sensor replacements- the list goes on- totalling close to $10K so far. I can't speak for every one's 540's but mine is a maintenance nightmare- even though its stranded me twice I still love the car. Power on tap (to quote a movie), I'm a power junkie and only a 540 or better will do for me. I'm SERIOUSLY eyeing a new 335 sedan, I think its a car that will make me happy without a loss in power and the obnoxious purchase price of a new V8 5 series.
