| Message: | I swapped seats on my E28, but those were simpler days. E39 has a passenger seat occupancy sensor built into the pasenger seat cushion that does not exist in the driver's seat. If disconnected, the car will set the dreaded airbag light. Also, the headrest motors are individually coded and keyed so that they are side-specific. I learned all this through time-consumming experience. E39 standard seats are a terrible design compromise. I'ver rebuilt them several times, but never made them really comfortable. My next car, when I can afford one, will have supremely comfortable seats! Ron | ||||
