| Message: | I didn't know that there was a 6 cylinder "M" model. Yours is an interesting case, as the warranty company seems to be rather rightly claiming that BMW should be covering the repair under the factory warranty. I don't believe that they believe that it's their job to provide their warranty coverage, indirectly, to BMW of America. That would sort of be what they're doing if they paid for the repair without a fight. Don't get me wrong, I'm not sticking up for insurance companies, as they don't need my help, and they usually tick me off. I see this sort of thing often in the area of buyer's home protection policies on houses. The companies are always looking for a way out of covering expensive repairs. That said, I'd think that since your mechanic is saying the cams need to be replaced, this is an issue worth fighting for. Question: Have their been notable changes made to the double Vanos since 1999? I ask because I didn't have to mess with my cams when I replaced my Vanos seals last month. I read that you must take special steps with the cams in the single Vanos but not the dual. | ||||
