| Message: | them a lot and they have good prices and quality. In my case, I used Permatex Ultra Rubber Dressing and Sealant on both sides of gasket and rubber groomets. Unlike most sealant, this one is designed to be applied to gasket and prolongs life of rubber and keeps gasket in place. On half moons and where timing cover split, I used small dubs of Permatex Ultra Cooper. 1998 BMW 540i 6 speed, arctic silver, M sport suspension (euro delivery), prod. date 05/98, non VANOS Remus exhaust - valance cut and exhaust raised Z3 shifter VDO oil pressure and temperature gauges in place of headlight/fog switches Powder coated valve covers-satin black CDV delete Debadged 1997 BMW 528iA Alpine white, premium package, prod. date 04/97, single VANOS Debadged Newest family addition: Direct Lift Pro Park 8 - love of my life (until my wife reads this) Most important of all: Meticulous maintenance and high quality parts and fluids (preferably not from greedy BMW dealer) Healthy cash reserve for unsuspected emergency repair Both cars and me have addiction to liquids made in Germany: Warsteiner and Lubro Moly (I haven't tasted second one, yet) Let's honor E39, the last of BMW great cars, with keeping this forum alive and helping each other.
