Before replacing clutch........ - The BMW 5 Series (E39) Message Forum

should check for driveline play, bad guibo, bad trans mount(s) and make sure bucking isn't caused by an engine performance issue. If bucking occurs while accelerating from 1000 rpm or in any driving mode while foot is off the clutch pedal, then it's probably not a clutch problem.
