Message: sort of. That is an RFID tag and it was used in the production of your vehicle so it could be tracked at any point in the process. You can imagine how many vehicles BMW has to keep up with in the production process. If it was a special order car that would also be how they new where and when to add the special order components or deviate from standard production. We find those all of the time in the shop when in that area of the vehicle.
