| Message: | Hello All. Have a question about brake pads and rotors. I have a 2001 325i. When I was at 60k miles, I replaced front and rear pads and rotors. I put OEM rotors and Axxis Deluxe pads. Now the car has 108k and steering is shaking when I brake at high speeds. I went to a brake shop to get an estimate, and they said that rotors are still far from minimum thickness (at 860mm?) so they can be turned. They also said that pad will last a while longer (they said 30k miles, but I don't believe that). Anyways, my question is: does anyone turn rotors on a BMW? does it make sense? should I just replace them? I am also surprised that Axxis pads lasted almost 50k miles and are still pretty thick, while front OEM pads only last 25k-30k miles. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. | ||||
