SMG a Lemon??? - BMW M3 (E46 M3) Message Board & Forum

My 2002 smg motor blew after 5,000 miles I brought it back to the south florida dealer where i bought the car and found out that 2 others had been returned for blown engines! I had the oil light go off around 3,000 miles after I brought it in for the 1,200 check up. Has anyone else heard of the motors on the smg blowing up? A friend in Ny told me he saw a smg in the dealership with a blown engine as well.
