Engine failure short & sweet (842 views) (1128 thread views) 
Message:
This will be short & sweet.

1. Noticed clank in the engine saturday night the 27th of April

2. Noticed again monday the 29th on my way home

3. Took it in & took the service manager for a quick ride around the block & he heard it & showed him your site again & he agreed with the rod bearing analysis & just so happened the area BMW rep was going to be there that afternoon.

4. They drained the oil & took it apart & forund #2 bearing shot & all the rest were scored so it was up to BMW as to what to do next.

5. He called me this morning & said a new engine was on its way & they wanted the old one & the DME too.
