Sudden Loss of Power (639 views) (1852 thread views) 
Message: Today under hard acceleration entering a freeway, I experienced a sudden loss of power. It felt silmilar to hitting the rev limiter (yeah I hit it a few times) but I was only at about 5500-6000 rpms when it happened. It was not DSC kicking in. I of course let up on the gas and then could only rev up to 4000 rpms no matter what gear I was in. Thinking that my engine blew up, I pulled over and shut the car down. When I started it back up, it was as if nothing ever happened. Very weird and very concerning. Anyone have any idea what may have happened?

BTW engine is 100% stock and it is a six speed 2001 M3.
