The Elise driver wasn't really close enuf to pass the GT3- and the GT3 was along side the F40 when the waving occured the first time.

True, the Elise driver almost T-boned the F40 - he dive-bombed him on the inside. I kinda doubt this was a race where the reward merited the risk. The F40 was taking a safe late apex line, hence likely a newbie or on a warm-up lap. So its likely the F40 didn't see him, in which case the Elise was being over-aggressive.
