Message: 1. my car had the cpt 8000 for the wiring for the shartkfin antennae & its eject box. The power was already there from that installation. the problem with that was that the antenae needed a adapter ( randy is sending). Option 640 is what gives you this. Your dealer can print out all your installed options from your VIn number. I had him do it for both cars for my records. You need to know before you proceed that the eject box holds a form fitting tray that is phone specific and supplies the snapin conections antenae & power. This is extra expense & work.

2. the parring button needed a wire from the "installation kit" supplied from the dealer. this can be installed without the eject box. This was easy because a thick wiring harness did not have to be snaked thru.

3. The newer cars evidently have 1 & 2 in the main wiring harness from the factory.

4. for the functioning of the phone 1,2 & 3 are not necessary because Randy put the toggle switch on the unit to use for parring. It is getting a strong enough signale on the phones antennae but I wanted the charging hardwired in like my CPT 8000 for long trips. In addition GPS coverage is problematic in W Va on the way to my son's home in NC.

5. Soooo the steps are:

* see if you have option 640
* decide if you want the extra trouble of installing the eject box, Parring button and form fitting cradle. If you do it without those it really is plug & play with Randy's set up.
* decide if you want to pay the labor for the above.

If you can be patient I will do an orgasnized write up after the eject tray and randy's adapter come. Hopefully this will be Tuesday or Wed before my trip to NC. Otherwise it will have to be the week after next.
