Thinking about buying '02 M3...help....? (317 views) (678 thread views)
Message: I'm thinking about buying an '02 M3. I know for sure this particular VIN falls in the range of cars requiring the bearing/oil pump service. This would be dealer purchased, certified, pre-owned with 5yr/100k mile warranty.

The car has about 36,000 miles on it. Is there anything in particular I should pay attention to? Do I need to be worried about the motor blowing up at this late mileage? I've already inquired about the service records regarding the bearing service. The salesman will be looking into that for me. He tried to act like he wasn't aware of that service issue. LOL.

The car looks immaculate, but I'm afraid of buying something that's going to bomb out on me. Then again, it's hard to go wrong with that warranty and it is the exact color/combo I am looking for.

What do you think a fair price for this car is? Here are the options listed on the website...I don't know why the heck they listed it that way. They should have just said, premium package, no heated seats..blah blah.
