BMW's now bangled proportional to model number (392 views)
Message:
Is it at all ironic to anyone, that somewhat due to the order in which they were done (and BMW having to pull back from the worst of Bangle's visual offenses), what we have is that the 3 series is somewhat conservative and plain, the 5 series is strongly Bangled, and the 7 series is the i-driving huge-butted big-eyebrowed weird-controls queen of the Bangle line.

Think about that for a moment against the expected buyer demographic.

BMW has made the 3 series plain and doudy, and sells it to young people.

Meanwhile the ugly-and-weird-control mobile is the 7er, which is sold to senior citizens, who tend to prefer Oldsmobiles and certainly don't need added i-drive complications in their lives...

Just kinda funny.

Good news - the new 335i coupe looks ok. Not great. But ok.

At this rate, I figure whenever BMW does import the 1 series to the US, it will be a round featureless orb devoid of any styling at all, and targeted at the tattoo-and-facial-piercing crowd :)
