| Message: | | 1)Put the M3 up on jack stands or a lift if you have access to one, in either case, the M3 needs to be level. 2) With a 14mm Allen socket remove the fill plug. 3) Check to see if the oil was at the proper level by sticking a finger in the fill hole. Oil should be right at the lowerest portion of the fill hole. 4) With a catch pan placed below the drain plug, remove the drain plug with the 14mm Allen socket. 5)When the oil has completely drained, place back the drain plug with a new seal-ring and torgue to 48ft-lb. 6)Refill the diff with the correct oil until the oil begins to just trickle out the fill plug. 7)Place back the the fill plug with a new seal-ring and torque to 48ft-lb.
The BMW Diff Oil part# is 83-22-2-282-583, it comes in a box kit with 3-500ml bottles of the oil. A substitute would be Royal Purple 75-140 MaxGear Oil.
The BMW Seal-ring part# is 07-11-9-963-355, 2 are required.
