Message: I'm looking to buy a '04 M3. The factory warranty just expired. The seller is willing to work with a BMW dealership to get the car CPO'd. How much should I expect this to cost? The lowest I found is $2,500.

I am also entertaining the purchase of the BMW extended maintenance plan. $1,800 is the lowest I am seeing, for the extended maintenance.

For $2,500 is the CPO actually worth it? Its for 2 years, I plan on keeping the car for 2 years. So its not going to add value on the resale. I'm leaning towards forgetting about the CPO and just getting the extended maintenance for $1,800. Any thoughts? Also, the car has about 10k miles on it.
