Picked up a different Elise, 2005 model with 3800 miles, SportPack, TouringPack, 3M 'Starshield' over 75% of the car. I had 31 cars on my list, 3 had fewer than 5k miles. Only 1 was yellow, oh well. I'm getting used to it. It is a head-turner (for better or worse).
Drove back from Portland OR to the SF Bay area in 11hr (includes 45' lunch & 3 fuel stops). No tickets :-)
It is an ear=to-ear-smiles while driving it. Very tossable, crisp turn-in and stiff suspension (no worse than my GroundControl). 30mpg in the mountains, 31+mpg in 90+ degree temps with the AC on. Yes the AC works, not as strong as the M3's but passable. Road noise from the YokA048's was very loud. Luckily i had my AD in-ear-noise cancellation earplugs, very effective at blunting road noise. My 2005 unit has a Blaupunkt unit w/o iPod connector, that may be the first mod.
The AP Racing brakes are kinda 'minis' (1 piston) compared to the larger AP Racing brakes i had on my M3. Then again, the car is only 1984 lbs (some guys strip them down to 1650 or 1750 lbs).
