brake fluid and service engine light

Message:

iDrive is telling me that the brake fluid needs to be changed soon. Will that cause the service engine light to appear? Wasn't sure if scheduled maintenance would cause service engine light to go off. Also, dealer is telling me that the time between brake fluid flushes needs to be at least two years. Waiting an extra couple weeks puts me out of my warranty/maintenance program. Is that typical protocol? Wanna get rid of service engine light before trading it in
