Question about M6 2007 (108 views) (108 thread views)
Message: I just bought a used 2007 M6 - nice car. Post-market modification: new air intake filters that can be removed and cleaned. Each time i start the car up in the morning - the engine malfunction/reduced power light comes on. The car runs fine. Each subsequent start of the car does not have the the warning. I bought it in to BMW shop and they says everything appears fine - but the air-intake filter may be sending a wrong message to the car and thus the warning. So it will cost $2,000 to remove the air-intake and put the manufacture filter back in. If everything is fine - then can I ignore the warning and drive the car without coughing up another $2K??? Please help.
