| Message: | My 02 745I has a problem with audio, I-drive, cd changer, and steering wheel controls. In the audio you get crackling noises with occasional music trying to break through. I-drive is erratic and will not respond to immediate requests. CD - changer continuously cycles through discs. Steering wheel controls do not work. Problem is this occurs mostly upon starting in the morning and lasts anywhere from 12-72 hours then something must reset and everything is fine for a week maybe a month before it happens again. I have owned the car for a year and the dealer has replaced the following parts trying to resolve the problem. I was told "we have the problem solved in each case". Keys and ignition switch, cd changer, power module. I was also told it could be a fiber optic issue to a bad cd in the navigation (removed cd and still have problem) to any component causing the network to go down. IN defense of the service dept.: we tried several times to get the car in while the problem was occurring with no luck. I live 1 hour away but every time I asked to bring in they would make apt. for next day or week and the problem wld go away before entering service dept. and diagnostic scans seem to be no help. One time the service manager gave us the car to take home (after fixing the problem) and as we started the car in the waiting area the malfunction occurred so he gave us a rental car, took it to the shop but had no mechanic on duty to look it over (after 5). Next morning problem was gone so tech cld not test while problem occurring. Yesterday we got the car in while the problem was occurring and now have an AKS module ordered. Apparently the problem exists in the MOST - bus network. Maybe excess temperature causing this? With car sitting overnight with nothing on??...I don’t know. I am fed up with this and hope someone else that reads the message board can help out - Anyone have the same issue and had it successfully resolved? | ||||
