It's the easiest shade-tree job around (214 views) 
Message: Well, it's not as easy as changing light bulbs; about on par with changing the oil. Hardest part is getting the new pad wear sensor into the pad. Directions are available on these forums and other places on the www.

Be sure to measure the rotor with a micrometer, as BMW rotors are soft and usually last no more than two sets of pads, often just one set.

It might be worth a couple of beers to ask a friend who's changed brake pads before to help you the first time.
