I've always been touchy about letting the car warm up. I usually sit for at least 2-3 minutes before I get the car in gear. I never get on the highway before that needle goes dead center either.
One thing different at my new apt. is i sometimes, depending on who gets to the garage first, park on a slope. this could push the oil to the back of the pan and cause some starvation on the top end at first start.
I mean, my old e30 ticked all day, everyday, 232,000 miles with no real work to the engine. seemed loud compared to other makes but it ran great and never blew up on me.
maybe I'm over reacting ?
