| Message: | Hi Paul! I haven't checked in here for a while. I've mostly been hanging out on BF.c. Story: I wrecked the Coupe last weekend at Laguna Seca. It's probably repairable but it won't be cheap. The story is that another car went off the track at the exit of T6, but rather than let himself get stuck in the gravel trap, he kept his foot in it. Unfortunately, the car made it back to the pavement before the driver really had control, and he shot back across the track right in front of me. I almost managed to miss him but I hit his LF corner with my RF corner. Lotsa damage to my car, and his car (a Spec Miata) is almost certainly a total writeoff. Then to make matters worse, the tow operator tried to lift my car from the TC Design tow hook, which wasn't designed for lifting. It broke and the car fell off the tow truck, and rolled down the hill towards T6, but fortunately turned and hit the inside wall. Fortunately because it would have hit a wall with a lot more speed if it had gone straight. So there's minor damage to the RR corner too, including denting the corner of the rear fender right above the taillight. I'll get it to a frame shop to try to get an estimate this week. In the meantime, if anyone knows of a recycler or wrecking yard in California with a Z3 (any Z3, even a 4-cyl would be fine) with an intact RF corner, please let me know. New prices for all of these parts will be at least $4K if not more. -- Go Dog Go Racing | ||||
