| Message: | | Most warrenties don't cover much, except the parts that never break - like crankshafts and engine blocks. This is a nearly new car - what can go wrong? If it has been properly serviced, and you continue to properly service it, it will be very reliable for many, many years.
The odds that some $5000 repair will be needed are slim, and hence the warrenty companies make lots of money on these policies.
The ones that don't make money (Warrenty Gold) declare bankruptcy and you are left with bubkis.
Be a bit of a gambler, put that money in the bank, take care of the car, and you'll likely come out ahead.
$1500 to insure a possible $5000 engine overhaul is not a very cost-effective investment, if you think about it.
IMHO.
