.....since the little critters love to strip insulation and knaw on the bare wiring. I once had them chew through a half inch diameter wire bundle that was completely tape wrapped- this was an expensive lesson for me. Since then, I leave my cars in storage guarded with one box of the old green mouse pellets at each corner of the car. I check the boxes weekly since if you have a bunch of mice around they will eat 1-2 boxes per week. Just keep feeding their habit until the boxes stay full for a week and you should then be good for an entire winter. I also tape the exhaust pipes so nothing crawls up into them and sets up a nest in the muffler- the other solution to this problem will stir up the PETA people- and the smell of roasting mice is pretty bad....
