1) If or when I behave myself in the Z3, 27 mpg is an easy reality. Others on this board have been speaking of even better than that.
2) You are the one who mentioned the potential to carry seven (7)passengers. Is that in your Cherokee? It should only seat five (5). Though gas milage wasn't the primary consideration, my wife is unhappy when she doesn’t get 26 mpg in her Sportage. It also seats five (5) but she is often alone. If the the two of us are travelling together we’re in the Z.
3) I stand by the observation that most driving is done solo.
I don't know where you got the idea that anyone said cars should be made based on gas mileage or any other single consideration alone. Yellow is a safer color, but I wouldn't buy Dakar.
