| Message: | 1) Some of our states are the size of some of your countries. 2) We do not have the mass transit infrastructure that you have. If we are going to get from point A to point B, the only reasonable option, and oftentimes the ONLY options, is frequently driving. We may be able to take the bus more than we do for in-town stuff, but for inter-city travel, or for inter-state travel, driving really is the only reasonable answer for many of us. 3) Your gas is much more expensive because it is taxed much more heavily. We pay our taxes elsewhere (income tax, property tax, sales tax, etc.) So for us to have to pay those taxes, and then STILL pay more for our gas, equates to being double-taxed.
