| Message: | I made observations that the US and Europe are different. I don't see you disagreeing with that. Instead, it seems like you are just indicating that you would be willing to be MORE like Europe. Fair enough. But that certainly confirms that we aren't the same as them as it stands. I don't think there is much dispute that the US is a much larger area. I don't think there is much dispute that we have less efficient mass transit. We can argue about taxes, but you can't dispute that a more significant percentage of their gas price constitutes taxes. If they didn't have the gas tax, the money would come from some other tax. Same thing here - if we were to drop other taxes, we would have to raise it somewhere - perhaps gas tax. Again, it just sounds like you are in favor of higher gas prices through tax in order to incent the market toward more environmentally friendly markets. But it doesn't mean we don't agree on the fundamental points that I mentioned.
