| Message: | I notmally use just the rumps: I drive up the ramps either the front or the rear. I think ramps are the safest way to crawl under a car and is much easyer. Last night I was changing oil as well so I wanted to have the car leveled. In this case I normally drive the rear on the ramps and jack up the front. I place the jack on the crossmemeber running from the front to the back of the car and place the jack stand on the jacking point (the plastic tab where you would put the cisor jack when replacing a flat tire). To replce the filter on the 2.8 you need a 10mm socket and and 8mm socket. There's two nuts (10mm) and 4 bolts (8mm) that hold the screen in place. You remove the screen and you'll see the filter. You then need a 10mm to rmeove the bracket holding it and a flat head screw driver to release the two clamps. Place a pan under the filter and remove the two connection. Fuel will not drain from the thank or the injectors rails, but it will drain out of the filter. Once you removed the old filter plug in the new one: the arrow needs to point towards the front of the car. Installation is reverse. As you start the car it might stubble and hesitate for a few seconds: this is normal since the filter needs to fill up with gas. You might get a missfire code for the same reason... --------------------------------- ![]() 1998 Z3 1.9 - few modifications here and there 1999 Z3 2.8 - individual edition (British Traditional) 2003 Z4 2.5i | ||||
