| Message: | It takes about 6-8 hrs to install so maybe the $2,400 is probably a little high by maybe a couple of 200-300 bucks... BUT, if the guys are perfectionists and take their time and make sure the top fits as if it was assambled in SC the day before... I wouldn't mind the extra $200... Just make sure the top IS BMW part. You maybe even want to buy it yourself: getbmwparts.com gives you 20% discount so the top will cost $1.173... Ask them how much they would charge you for just the installation if you supply them the top. Maybe that gives yo uthe same result and you save the few 100 bucks they would charge you for the perfect job... You probably already know this, but THE ONLY top with the zipped in rear window is the BMW one: I was confiremed by GAHH that BMW has a pattent on it and no aftermarket can replicate that... I heard GAHH is good quality, with premium fabric and the side pockets to facilitate the top folding. Some aftermarket don't have these pockets and some don't even fit that well. I haven't yet seen an aftermarket top that looks and feel EXCTLY like an OEM: the stitching pattern, the color, the shape of the rear window, the seal arund the rear window, the pattern on the inside of fabric are normally details the aftermarket tops don't have or ar different... That depends whether you care or not for these details. I do and these little things would drive me crazy so when time come I'll go with OEM... --------------------------------- ![]() 1998 Z3 1.9 - few modifications here and there 1999 Z3 2.8 - individual edition (British Traditional) 2003 Z4 2.5i | ||||
