If I had not got silicone residue and trim glue on the cloth top around the rear window where I was trying to fix it I probably would have just gone the rear window replacement. I am just taking the guy who has 40 + years of experience on the window thread to eventually start poping after a rear window replacement. It's a situation of do you trust the guy or is he just trying to get more money out of you. Since I had messed up the top which was in really good shape, it was kind of a no brainer to just get a new top and be done with it.
