It sounds like a Getrag 265 which is an overdrive tranny. Fifth gear is .83:1 reduction. I believe these transmissions first came out in '80 or '81. I have this type in my '81 633CSi coupled to a 3.45 ratio differential. The unique feature of this trans is that the bellhousing is separate from the transmission.

Can anyone help with a part # on a 5sp? Cast in the case is the following: 262 0.510.00 Stamped into the flange for the left lower bellhousing bolt is the following: 00 3430E0 Anyone know what year this tranny is? Is it a overdrive? The shift pattern is.. reverse, left up, 5th right up.. Come on... someone must know....
