well where do i start? and what can i get it out of cus i work at a bmw dealership cus i could just order a new one

Not sure what the donor car was, likely an earlier 530, 633, or e3 car. It does not have marks for kilometers per hour, so it's not a Euro gage. Later gages won't work (as you already know) because they are electronic and need a sensor instead of mechanical speedometer cable. I just called the wrecking yard and asked for a 140MPH speedo for the 528i, and they sent it.

BTW what I got was just the speedo. I took the gage panel out of my car, pulled out the old speedo, and put the 140 gage into the original panel.
