I was going to attempt this, but the vacumm braking system of the 528e can't be used with the M30 motor. There is not enough room and that is why BMW used the hydrolic brake booster. I would suggest selling the 528e and getting a 535i if you want the big six. It is just not an easy swap. Also the whole driveline needs to be changed. The tranny doesn't bolt up, nor the driveshaft. The diff ratio is different, I believe the 535i brakes are larger. You have to pretty much change a lot of stuff and it is not worth it. It would take too much time any effort, unless you had a wrecked 535i to pull all needed parts out of.If you want any more info please email me privately

just wondering if someday i'll add a bigger engine along
with tranny, etc. Just wondered if anyone was doing this on
the boards today.
Most all 5 series should have the engine bay room to accomodate the big six.
Engine mounts, subframe etc may have to be swapped out. All driveline items should fit OK.
I am sure someone has done this before.
Good Luck,
