I'm looking to buy a 1990 525i with 127,000 miles new tires & brakes. I saw this in the news paper and I was wondering if anybody knew anything about the quality of these cars. I need something that is not going to break down a whole lot although i dont expect to never have it in the shop. If anybody has an recomdations or thoughts on things I should check on the car.

Any info would be great

I have a 90 525 with 80k. It is a comfortable, uninspiring, predictable car. I refer to it as Germany's version of the Saturn. With the weight of the e34 body and power of an e30i motor, it is notably underpowered. I also find the suspension somewhat soft. I drive the car daily, and find it quite enjoyable (within its limitations).
I drive my 6 series for fun
