At the risk of being the last to know, and after all the bragging I have been doing about salt free roads in Oregon, I recently learned that Oregon has been testing Magnesium Chloride for snow melt on roads for a few years now. This year, many areas of the state moved to implementation. I wondered why my grey metallic 528i was getting so dirty this year. Kind of light grey pasty look.

Looks like we have to start rinsing our undercarriages frequently during snow months. All of a sudden, living in the soggy Willamette Valley doesn't look so bad.

Sorry if this is redundant for some of you. Can't believe how quietly this program was put into place.
