The original materal is rubberised horse hair. You can still get them new. What I am doing is geting some thick foam from an upolster and doing the job my self. the original leather is held inplace on the bottom with bull clips. you can use pipe cleaners instead and its a heck of a lot easier. check the first fives web sight as well a few of those fokes have done this.
