It turns out that my thermostat was sticking shut.
I replaced my 80 degree thermostat wih a 74 degree
thermostat from Bavarian Autosport and the car is running significantly cooler and smoother now. I also poured in a bottle of Red-Line water wetter which also seemed to help keep things cooler. Thanks.
