Guys,will a '82 euro high-compression head bolt-on an '80
3.3 US block with no problems/modifications.I need to replace the current head due to crack that is allowing oil to mix with water.I need to know for certain that this euro head will fit.Anyone who has done this and knows for certain plz respond. Please no guesses.Car is 6-series.Big Thanx!

1) to my knowledge the 82' head is the same basic casting as the 1980 one you have on your car with the exception that around 1981 BMW improved some of the castings wall thickness (around the water jackets) to make is less crack prone.....

The combustion chamber head CC should be the same between the two different castings...... Only the camshafts durations are different between US and euro cars.....

The heads are interchangeable, especially if the donar car was bosch L-jet equipped. If the euro car had a motronic fuel system you will either have to adapt the early Motronic cam to distributor drive by adding the Metric Mechanic adaptor nut or replace the cam w/a l-jet version.
