I'm a regular on the 2002 and 320i forums and went to the junk yard today and saw an early 80's 528i with some interesting front seats. At first I thought they were Recarro's but on the side it said 'Pro car' or something similar. They are blue velvet with an elaborate rail/base system. Seats in the junk yard are usually around $20-30 each. The yard is on Beach Blvd in Buena Park, CA north of the 22 and just south of Ball Road.
