front seat repair/replacement options for E12 (archive)

I have an '80 528i. The horsehair pads are failing in the front seats and I need a source for pad replacement or, better, replacement seats from newer models that I can obtain from a salvage yard. I would prefer more lateral support. IF you have used replacement seats, please let me know what you used and what modifications were necessary for the install.
