HELP! 520i won't go.... (archive)

HELP! The day after topping up the ATF fluid on my '95 520i the car would not start. Battery flat. Re-charged and drove fine but next day same problem. Now with auto gearbox problem light on. Can meddling with the ATF cause these kind of problems or just a coincidence with battery problem?
(ATF level is OK)
