You may be on the wrong board. If not, and want an e12 for 15K,,, I think I can fix you up. (kidding)

Our cars have more character than most 15k cars, and can be bought in excellent condition for 1/4 to 1/2 the price. Even including the other series, 528, 533, 535, 635, 735 and 745, the money your talking about throwing around will buy two excellent renditions. The exceptions would be the M series cars, The alpinas, The Hartge (real ones, of course)

If you walk around waving $15,000, I am sure you can spend your money. If you want to buy wisely, you have come to an excellent place to do the necessary research to make a good deal.

We love our older BMW's and many of us would never consider models after 1987-88. However, the best ploy is to buy at a good price, spend the money to have the car checked out very well, and bank the rest of the money for improvements and maintenance.

Aside from that, your question is way too open-ended. What do you want, looks, reliability, speed, character, etc?

Again, however, If you're just aching to spend $15,000, I think I can be of assistance.
