Was the leather weathered and sun-dried, or actually worn. I don't think you can "wear" out any leather in 107K miles. I had an 80 with 150K on it and the seats had no wear. If the miles were highway, nobody was getting in and out that often. Sounds like this car spent it's life under intense sunlight, and then you mention the rust which would imply hard winters and salted roads or coastal climates.

My 80 was 150K, EXCELLENT Runner, EXCELLENT brakes and all other mechanical, One owner and NOT ONE SPOT of rust (typical of our climate). The bad news.... it had a broken grill and rolled front edge on the hood, and a hole in the radiator, from a minor mishap. I paid $500, and 600 later, had one of the best e12's I could imagine for that money...

I'm sorry, but what you describe is a pass for me, but I am death on rust in the first place. It is a cancer that is rarely ever localized.

You can do much better for the money, but you may have to shop patiently and you may have to get out of town to locate the right car. There are actually tons of them available... believe me.
