I've been so busy traveling this summer for my job I blew past my 20th Anniversary. In a last minute attempt to save the day I asked the wife if she wanted to go to the Monterey Historics. She agreed and even helped plan the last minute trip. We say Jay Leno on Saturday by the Bentely display. I would have liked to meet some of you lucky Gold Coasters while I was out there. The BMW CCA had a hospitality tent. As I said I've been extermely busy this year and let my club dues laps. The gate guy's refused to let me in and wouldn't even listen when I tried to explain or ask if I could re-up on the spot! I really wanted to sit in the new Mini that was inside the fenced in area. (I'm on the waiting list for one at my local dealership) I even had my First Fives T-shirt on!! I was SOO Pisted!! I may NOT re-join the CCA but ONE THINGS FOR SHURE there WILL be a next time in Monterey. My wife and I had a great time (except for the CCA thing!GRRR) and she up for another trip! Next time I'll plan ahead a little. In closing I must say, There were more Ferrari's in Monterey and at the Laguna Seca raceway than in all of Italy! I have never seen an probably will never see a more vulgar display of wealth in my life again. I loved it! and I'll never be the same........I can't decide if I'm not normal or if what I saw is not normal.......
